The thieves typically use portable saws and cause significant damage to the vehicle. This is particularly worrisome due the high number of vacant homes in the neighborhood. The Detroit Water and Sewerage has created two new numbers to increase call capacity. Effective Monday the new number for customer service will be 313-267-8000, for collections 313-267-8005. The call center will be open from 8-5 weekdays and 8-4:30 Saturdays. The old customer service number will remain active through a 6 month transition period. The 24 hour emergency number will remain the same.
